Applications of Jetblack Bitumen Emulsion
Prime Coat
- A prime coat is a low viscosity bitumen emulsion applied to a granular base to seal the surface, providing better adhesion between the base and the bituminous overlay.
Functions
- Bonds loose mineral particles on the surface.
- Toughens the surface of the base.
- Waterproofs the surface by plugging voids.
- Provides adhesion between the base and bituminous mixtures.
- Conditions: Avoid application during dust storms, fog, rain, or when the temperature is below 10°C.
Tack Coat
- Tack Coat is a light application of low-viscosity bitumen emulsion to an existing surface (bituminous, cement concrete, or primed granular) to create a bond between the surface and the new pavement layer.
- Applications: Ideal for overlays and re-paving projects.
Fog Seal
